Where Are We?

Forest Flying is situated in the beautiful Finch Hatton Gorge. Located only 70 km inland from Mackay and the Queensland Coast there are lovely bush walks, gorgeous waterfalls, pristine mountain streams, and a stunning natural environment.

You can now drive right into Forest Flying. Please ask for directions when you make a booking. From Mackay, drive West towards Eungella National Park. Just before the town of Finch Hatton, turn right to Finch Hatton Gorge. Drive over the bridge and turn left onto Langdon's Road. At the stop sign, turn right onto Gorge Road. Eventually you'll get to a creek crossing, directly after that turn left onto Van Houweninge's Road, then left again onto Oliver's Road. You'll see a sign pointing right to "Forest Flying". Go through the two gates and up a steep hill to the carpark. A short walk through the forest will find you at the starting point for the Forest Flying.

Forest Flying tours are very personalised (we usually take no more than 6 people at any one time).  We operate tours on a booking only basis.

There are a number of small Queensland towns nearby with tea rooms, galleries, and hotels. In the Finch Hatton area there are cabins where you can stay while you explore the area. Find out more on accommodation in the area.
